    Hello.
I know there are game boy advance emulators out there for the iPod. Problem is I believe they all require jailbreak, which is not an option for me right now (I am on an iPod 3g, I refuse to be tethered).
Is there an emulator on the app store (which I highly doubt) or alternatively is there any way to run a GBA emulator without a jailbreak?

no there's not, let's use common sense here. if the gba emulator is in cydia, why would it be in the app store? cydia is a place for good apps like emulators that apple refused.

don't give up hope, you'll have a jailbreak when 4.0 firmware rolls around.

There was an emulator approved, and in the App store. For 4 hours or so. Why do you refuse to use a tethered jailbreak?

Even though I've got a 1st gen iPod touch, so my device is untethered for life, I've not rebooted it in at least 4-5 months (and that was to jailbreak it!).

Tethered really isn't that much of a big deal, honestly.

Exactly. My iPod has never crashed to the point of having to reboot it. That said, people are never satisfied.

I too have a tethered jailbreak and with sbsettings it'll always tell you how much memory space you have left so crashing wouldn't be a problem.

The only time I've rebooted or shut off was done manually.
Usually when I wanted more free space or installed a ms.
