You can save games such as pokemon games in two ways. The first is within the actual game, normally this works but sometimes it doesn't. If you save the game within the actual game, you will not see the save under the "Saved Games" tab of the emulator, but will be able to load your save from within the game.

The other more reliable way to save (depending on if you have good roms or not) is by saving with the emulator. In order for this to work though, you have to go to var/media/ROMs/GBA (the location of your roms) and set the GBA folder and the ROMs folder to 0777 permissions.

QUICK QUESTION: All of my pokemon games run relatively smoothly but the sound does not, its very skippy and laggish. Does anyone else have this problem? I want to know if its the emulator or if I have bad roms. Thanks.

Sorry, dumb question, but, whenever I paste the bin/Chmod-R/Applications/gpsPhone thing (off the top of my head, sorry if that's wrong) into the Terminal console in WinSCP it fails.

I've installed the bios to the correct location, can anyone help me please?

I'm running a 1.1.1 Jailbroken iPod touch with gpSPhone, Squid, BSD Subsystem and OpenSSH (the relevant addons, not all of the ones on my touch).

    Thank you in advance.

I have a couple of questions for you too...

I've got the bios via installer.app and upon loading the games it says "error reading bios" blah blah.

So.. I've searched through the forum and went through google to get myself another bios..
however I have NO IDEA where I am supposed to move it to... I looked in Applications via SSH and there is no gpSphone folder.. So I made one.. copied the bios into there and nothing..
I just saw the post above this one and realised I wasn't the correct place however I cannot find the folder called bin/ ..

    Can someone help?

Ohhhhh, sorry I thought it wasn't reading the ROMs because you didn't have any. Your problem is that you don't have the correct bios, (i think it might be illegal to post it on here because people are only sharing it through PM)

if you find that and place it in the correct location (it will tell you) then you'll be fine

I give up to be honest, no-one will help!!!

All i want is a step BY step instruction on WHERE to put it...

People are saying media_sym but where is that?
I need the EXACT address of where to put.. im getting very tired of trying to get it work now and I might aswell just uninstall it...

It's actually pretty simple - just SSH it to /Applications. Set the permissions to EVERYTHING INSIDE THE FOLDER to 755 (I think 777 will work too, it's just 755 works for me). Also, be sure you have the BIOS named exactly like this - gba_bios.bin
Make sure the whole file name is lowercase.

YAY thankyou. Finally lol, some help.
Sorry for kinda losing my rag there..

it works now :) I wasn't told applications was just a folder outside of var.

Now to just find some working ROMs lol... I have a few and yes, the games are a bit laggy and the sound is skippy but even I know I can't expect and iPod touch to be able to play them smoothly hehe.

My only trouble now is finding good ones hehe. i tried using Goomba to convert .gbc games to .gba but none of them work so that's out the window lol.

Can you PM me any reccomendations for games?
(I was also a bit miffed that super mario world is laggy too.. *cries*)

Anyway thanks for the help, your rep goes up :)

Now there's no need for Goomba to convert .gbc games to .gba because there's already a fully working, full speed Game Boy and Game Boy Color emulator out. Oh, and I'm glad I could help, rep would be appreciated. :)
