    You only get 10 minutes of playtime? If you're still under warranty, get it replaced.

    decrease your brightness turn of wifi or ssh or bluetooth when not in use and when playing the game should help.

    naturally games eat up more battery because of the graphics sounds etc and you can't put it on hold and play the game at the same time like music.

    @zDSpider, hahah.

    Download SBSettings from Cydia.
    You can now turn off SSH, and Wi-Fi, and Location services while you play to drastically increase your battery time.

    Also, use SBSettings to disable some non-needed MobileSubstrate addons.

    The iPod touch was designed for music, not games.
    Apple wasn't going to put the App Store on the iPhone and leave out the iPod touch.

    Good Luck,

    Also, on the iPod touch 3G, the battery will be extremely better, so just wait it out, and maybe start thinking about putting your jailbroken touch on CraigsList before more people know about the 3G.
