    That's totally conincedental. There is nothing that would link them launching a 4 inch phone to any other company recently. /sarcastic

    Its because the European market has a larger market for smaller screens. Here in America, we've just been wanting bigger screens, as big as we can get. It's not like this is the first time Samsung has released a smartphone with a four inch screen; it's their fifth that comes to mind (not counting the carrier variants of the Galaxy S).

    This is funny.. Others made 4 inch phone before Apple make a 4 inch phone. Apple make bigger screen to compete with other phones.

    Actually it is coincidental. This release is way to close to the iPhone launch for them to have had the idea and build working prototypes and do announcements that quickly. This was planned well in advance of the iPhone.

    Now because Apple released their first 4"-screen smartphone, companies other than Apple are not "allowed" to produce 4"-screen devices anymore. Sammy had 4-inchers before the iP5? Doesn't matter, Apple.
