I just recently received my unlocked Play Store Gnex, running on T-Mobile Pre-pay $60/2GB (from a 2 year plan with Samsung Moment, huge upgrade). Been using it since I literally got it last Thursday, alas I haven't had internet at home so I couldn't form this thread till today. I know there are a lot of you here with GNexii and I wanted to have a place we could discuss the on going of your device. What ROM are you running? What kernel? How is your battery life? Screen issues, case choices etc. So to start it all off, I am running a self-compiled CM10 with some cherry-picks not unlock some ROMS you'll find on XDA. Running Trinity kernel TNP1420-537-JB-ALPHA35. This means it's running at 1.420 GHz and 537 MHz for the GPU. I have to say I've really only messed with Trinity thus far and rather enjoy the "Trinity Color" settings. They seem a little blue to begin with, but your eyes quickly adjust to make everything pop much much more. Whites are whiter, blues bluer, etc. As for cases or screen protector, not to worried about the screen, but I do want to get a case. I need to read a little more on them/get paid on Mon first. ROM: Self-compiled CM10 with cherry-picks Kernel: Trinity kernel TNP1420-537-JB-ALPHA35 (1.4 GHZ CPU, 537 MHz GPU) Recovery: ClockworkMod Touch 6.0.1.0 Bootloader Information Product name - tuna Variant - maguro 16GB HW Version - 9 Bootloader - PRIMELC03 Baseband - XXLF1 Serial - XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Signing - production
Congrats on the new Android device! "What ROM do you have on your phone(s)/tablet(s)?" Thread is pretty similar to this...
Tis it is. But I want a specific device user group as I know there are plenty of users here with this phone, to discuss just this phone.
I like to see this thread, hopefully it gets used. As for the case - the diztronic matte case is by far the best bargin. I will put a link at the bottom of this post. You can see very positive reviews on youtube for it. Battery- Battery life isn't nearly as great as using my iPhone 4 on Edge but with 4g (or H) speeds and a large screen thats expected. I don't have any problems getting through a normal use day and actually find myself having 50% battery left sometimes. The device will last about 3-4 hours of 'screen on' time. Screen issues- The screen does have some lines or "banding" in the background which is common with AMOLED technology. But the rich vibrant colors totally make up for the small imperfections it has. After a while you wont even think about it. Rooting- I don't plan on rooting anytime soon, too much time consumption, possibility of being unstable and warranty fears. Other issues- GPS will take minutes to find my location and phone gets quite warm/hot when using GPS or heavy use. http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Fle...185480&sr=1-1&keywords=diztronic galaxy nexus
ROM: 4.1 OTA. Waiting for AOKP to be updated with 4.1.1. Kernel: Franco's. Just flashed today so idk about the battery life on it, but its the most popular one on XDA. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
WTF?! Exact same here. Only difference is that I'm writing this on my laptop, and not on by GNex using Tapatalk 2. Anyway... battery life was great on ICS with franco.kernel and it was amazing on JB with stock kernel, so it should be good.
ROM: AOKP Build 38 Love the phone, just talked a VZW rep into giving me another battery for free . Love the screen, battery life could be a tad bit longer, but it can get me through the day.
