Has anyone used a G-Fi unit with a touch yet? Just wanting some feedback on how they go. Do theywork with other navigation apps appart from the ones that posimotion do?

Nope, like a google search doesn't come up with anything about how it works besides that it's ipod compatible, and since its supposed to transfer GPS data through Wi-Fi, i dont see why it shouldn't work with other navi apps

I'd like to know, too. Also, what makes this different from the iGPS360?

iGPS is a dock addon/GPS dongle
the G-Fi is an ad-hoc Wi-Fi device that also gives the connected devices a GPS location

it looks like it's basically a GPS receiver that instead of transferring the datapoints via a serial cable, USB or bluetooth, does it via wifi

looks like it also has a really basic access point functionality too (just local though)

This device is much advertised but is not very useful. It will only provide GPS data to Navmii and not to any other application (this from a Posimotion reply). This makes it really useless. They also advertise it as having a 'private network' capability - well how many of us need that?

To be really useful it should supply position to any device or computer which can acess its wifi - then they would have a winner - not a wimp.
