Future iPod Touch Owners

  1. I am not 100% sure about this, when I got my iTouch, it was a 1.1.2 and came in a "John Lennon" box, the original ones shipped with some girl on the front of it, so it may be a way to determine between 1.1.1 (girl on the box) and 1.1.2 (John Lennon on the box). If this is correct than it should save you the time and effort of downgrading.

Shouldn't matter now since all newer shipments should have 1.1.2 by now

All John Lennon boxes will have 1.1.2. A bunch of Macie Gray ones will too.

It isn't that big of a deal since it is so easy to downgrade.

well you don't have to go to itunes
you can just go to Settings > General > About

there you can see the version on the touch itself
