I'm trying to access my computer on mobile safari. When I do this on a normal computer, I enter ftp://username@myip and a box pops up to ask for the password. Since pop-ups don't exist on mobile safari, it simply tells me no permission to view /. Is there a workaround to this?

In settings --> safari , there is a setting to turn off block pop- ups.

Didn't work. I don't think it's that simple of a problem. In Camino (and I assume Safari as well), it's actually a drop down window asking for the password (like the print window). Surely there's some complicated workaround to FTP from mobile Safari.

Well, I didn't know you can do that. I tried it on my computer like

    ftp://myname:password@localhost

And it worked fine. I DID get on an ftp site with anonymous on mobile safari

    ftp://anonymous@do.main.name

So it can browse ftp. I tried the name

assword method to access my computer, and it just gave me a blank page. Might be some specific error. Both computers in the house can browse it. But no "no permission" error now, so that's good.
