Following the YouTube video on putting the iPhone apps on your touch, he gets to the ftp step. He says the username is root and the password is alpine. However, it says the host validation fails. What do I do?

Make sure the port is 22 and make sure your ip adress is correct. To find your ip adress go to your touch go to settings>wifi>click blue arrow for your network>locate ip adress.

Use the ip adress that is shown when you touch the blue arrow next to your network.

that helped sort of (changing the port number to 22), it gets passed the validation part but it just times out and keeps retrying

The folder is called Media_sym. It should be one of the three folders on the root.
