Sooo....I was using RockApp to download a couple of themes and halfway through my iPod just shut down...I try to turn it on again, but after a few seconds of verbose booting it stops, the last line reading:

    Code:
Running fsck on the boot volume...
    fsck failed!

then it shuts off...is there any way to fix it without restoring?

YES I KNOW I CAN PROBABLY JUST DFU RESTORE. PLEASE DON'T OFFER THAT AS A SOLUTION<<As politely as possible, I know you're just trying to help

Just another example of why rock is unstable and shouldn't be used.

    Nope.

FSCK i belive is the drive analyser, like on windows with a hard shutdown when you get blue disk check screen. When theres a error it will fail becasue drive is currupt and will shutdown, ya you should restore

Is this a problem with the Spirit JB? Because I frequently use rock with blackra1n. And I never have problems with it. Don't know what anybody is talking about.
