Hello everyone, I was wondering if it is ok to "fruitcake around" with my Motorola Atrix. For the people that don't know a fruitcake is a CMW .zip that can be downloaded and flashed like a ROM but takes you to stock firmwares. So what I wanted to know is, its it ok to downgrade to 1.8.3 VIA a fruitcake when on 2.3.4. I know that it is unsafe VIA .sbf but i'm not sure about these, could someone please let me know. - Redsn0wier
Oh, I don't know then, sorry. I remember that on my Nexus One, there were stock unrooted ROMs available as .zips as well, but they came with the warning that if you flash it, you'll lose your custom recovery and whatnot.
Yeah well with this ROM you still have your custom recovery and everything. Oh well don't want to risk my Atrix. Found a nice MIUI v4 ICS ROM for it anyway
Yes, they're safe. Thats actually the main reason fruitcakes were created, so you wouldnt have to risk bricking via sbf. A fruitcake is just the system partition of an sbf converted into a cwm zip with the radio, bootloader and recovery removed so worst case you flash another rom in recovery.
Would you happen to have a working link to the 1.8.3 fruitcake all the links that I have found are down
