I just did this, Turn it off, (Hold Home and Sleep/Wake)

Plug into Itunes, Wait for it to respond, (Takes a while) Then Restore!

    No.
Simply SSH into your iPod and remove the theme you installed from /private/var/mobile/Library/Customize2/
    Reboot.
    Fixed!

1.Make sure iPod is completely powered off.
2.Hold the home button while its off.
3.While holding the Home button, connect the cable. The iPod should power on.
    4.Keep holding the Home button.
5.The Connect to iTunes image should come up.
    6. Congrats, you in recovery mode.

Came from the post at the top of the page.

You don't have to restore it or put it all the way to the connect to itunes logo. I get this error alot, just hold down the home/sleep-wake buttons at the same time (like others have said) then when the screen goes off, let go and power it back on. *NOTE: It will take a while for it to reboot (will be on the apple logo longer than usual) because you just did a force reboot. GOOD LUCK!
