iPhone 3G Frozen iPhone 3g

    is there anyway that i can unfreeze my iphone without going to recovery mode and then having to restore?
    for some reason my phone freezes every now and then and because i dnt want to restore i have to wait for it to die and then charge it up and turn it on normally again..
    please can anyone help?

    As I see from your profile your iPhone 3G is running 4.0.1. iPhone 3G can't run 4.0 without freezes and lags, even if its a fresh install.

    I suggest you downgrade to 3.1.2 or 3.1.3, and do not install more than 40 applications (including games)

    ya i had the same problem luckily i backed up mi shsh n was able to downgrade back to 3.1.2 a then jailbreaked it using jailbreakme.com n now cydia is booost takes no time in reloading

    but doesnt holding the POWER + HOME button make the iPhone go into recovery mode? and then i will have to restore anyway?

    Holding power and home, then releasing power is DFU mode.
    Holding home and then plugging your device in is recovery mode.

    Exactly. Power+Home while the device is turned on just forces it to shut down.
