My friend tried to jailbreak his 2g Touch using the original method (not quickfreedom/redsnow, the manual one) and now it won't turn on at all. I have it now to see if i can get it to work but i'm stumped.

When i plug it in, nothing happens. Window doesn't even react.
    I can't dfu it
(hold lock 3 sec, hold lock and home 10 sec, hold home 30 sec)
    and
(hold home and lock 10 sec, hold home 8 sec)
    no luck.
I've tried using redsnow cause i read it somewhere but that didn't work either.

    Anyone have any other ideas?

And guys! USE REDSN0W 0.3. MUCH LESS PAINLESS THAN ANY MANUAL JAILBREAK.

Theres not much hope, this is why you need to be careful when jailbreaking a ipod.

Yes, use the Dev Teams Redsn0w 0.3 BETA Jailbreak
EDIT: Do you have LIBUSB? If you dont and you're in vista you NEED to install incompatibility mode with Windows XP SP2, to do so: Right Click "Properties" on the .exe and go to Compatibility and enable it and choose Windows XP SP2

Hold it! If it was the original method then you need to boot it. It IS TETHERED right? To boot it you need to know arm commands and such. Although just rejailbreak it in DFU mode with redsn0w 0.3.

It is not tethered, it is the first untethered JB.
I am using XP and i do have libusb cause that's what i used on my touch.

You said put it in dfu correctly, care to show me the "correct way"

i've searched the threads and i followed the one in redsnow and that's what it showed me.

i followed the dfu instructions like 10 times already. The problem is, when i plug the ipod into my laptop, it doesn't even see it. Libusb doesn't see it at all.
