OK, I am growing tired of this. First person to come up with a plist hack to disable persistent wifi, will get a free surprise (it won't cost much, but it will be good I promise).

I say plist, because I have turned everything off, push, notification (individually and via master trigger), location services, mail fetch, calender update thing, etc. However it won't turn off. Restoring to DFU only works for 2 days before the problem resurrects (I thought it was an app, but I tested each 1 by one with no avail).

Hence, the race is on, figure out a plist hack (particular to iOS 4 ipt 4g, be the first to post it, and get the surprise!!!

    ****Update****

Ok in all honesty, none of the suggestions bellow gave me a definitive fix for the issue. However, thanks to iBricked, I was able to figure it out.

As promised, I will be giving iBricked a surprise. Unfortunately, I cannot render a lavish gift at this time, and as such, will be giving iBricked a $5 amazon.com gift card (give me about 5 days SeƱor iBricked).

    ****Update 2 (11/4/2010)****
    iBricked has been rewarded.

    As for the Fix:

***This requires you to jailbreak your iPod and use SHH or iFile***

    Navigate to: /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.apsd.plist

    ... and delete:

    Code:
    <key>keepalive</key>
    Finally, reboot device.

Is there a way to do this with all apps? not just one by one?

Also to find them all with a free edition of iFile is a bit hard. Is it all located in one plist?

May you please guide me a bit more?

Someone should write an app that can show which apps have it enabled, and they should give you little on and off switches for each one.

Did you try removing (personally I'd just rename) "PersistentConnection.framework"?

Why do you want to turn it off?

I could not rename this baby, so I moved it into a different location. However, after rebooting my device, I still see the persistent wifi issue.

@anyone, any other suggestions versus going app by app and changing values?

Why don't you just turn on Airplane mode when you don't use your iPod?
