I just got off the phone with Apple's customer service and was told that Apple will send a $20 electronic coupon for the apple store to any existing iPod Touch owner who buys the new applications. Just call customer service and tell them you're upset for having to pay and the coupon will show up in your mail within 24 hours. Its the same as they did for iPhone owners when the price dropped. I was told that you CAN use the coupon in retail stores.

    Hope that helps.

Nice find, but we still pay $20. Since nothing at the apple store costs $20, we likely need to pay even more to use the coupon.

What number do you call? The options on the My Apple number are hard to sort out and none of them are really customer service options.

I called My Apple, chose the iPod/Purchase an iPod option and asked to be transfered to customer service.

Thanks. I just talked to them and they said that they couldn't do anything because I didn't buy at an Apple Store. I bought it at an Air Force Base. Apple is really being rude.

Once this gets confirmed, I think I'll call. Is this only good for the apps though? I don't want to even get 1.1.3 right now, I'd like to put it to something more useful
