Free rep to anyone who answers this question...

Okay guys, I've recently made a really cool unlock screen wallpaper, and a cool tapper bar to go with it...

But the thing is, is that the bar that's behind the time/date display is in the way!

See that bar behind the date and time up at the top of the screen?

Is there any way to get rid of that (or make it transparent) so that the only thing behind the white date and time is my wallpaper?

    SO FAR:

I believe the file for the date/time background bar is somewhere in /system/library/coreservices/springboard.app

But I have no idea what file it is, and just deleting something that might be the bar could be very dangerous

-During testing to find it, I deleted a .png file in springboard.app that I thought was the date/time background bar. Turns out, that made the unlock screen mini music player background disappear. BUT, the controls for it weren't functioning

So I backed the file into it, and now it's fine again

-Of course though, I backed up springboard.app...

    ...Just in case

    Any suggestions guys?

my gut is telling me that the file IS in springboard.app, and that I must replace the background file with one that is 100% transparent...

P.S. this image is NOT my unlock screen, it is someone elses on the forums (i forgot who, sorry), the only reason I posted it is because I thought a visual would help you guys out

It is most likely somewhere in the other.artwork file, so look here.

I would say just use crtl-f to do different finds: time, bar, etc.

Sorry I couldn't be of much more help

Uh oh, hold up, what exactly will this other.artwork do?

I know it changes things in your ipod (I've SSH'd these kinds of things many times before)

First of all, is it 1.1.1 compatible (my current firmware is 1.1.1)

second, what exactly does it change?

i think if you delete it it deletes the bar and if you edit it it changes the color

    thats what i THINK

The other.artwork file basically changes the look of stuff on your ipod. If you search you will find out more. This one just changes the time bar. I am unsure if this will work with 1.1.1 but you can try, but make sure to back up first!

It will change many things. The bars in installer, maps.app colors/bars, youtube, music, safari, maps.app colors/bars, and more.

I doubt it. I remember it being in a thread recently and those are commonly 1.1.3/4 compatible. Post in theme requests for a slight change or for full colors. Make sure to state 1.1.1.

uuum, okay I already know what an other.artwork file does, I just wanted to know what this one in particular did, and if it was 1.1.1 compatible...

So your saying this one only changes the date/time background?

I hope this is 1.1.1 compatible, does anyone know?
