    hi guys. I was just searching around for push on my touch and stumbled upon this lifehacker page.

    but FW 2.x has push option anyway with whatever free account you already have. or am i missing the point?

    But only yahoo gives push mail for free. And of has some server problems. Yahoo sometimes pushes the mail within seconds an sometimes it takes hours. Currently gmail does not support push. It supports pull aka fetch mail. With mail2web u can set up any account with push. Just forward all incoming mails to the push id. For push mail u need a device supporting push mail like the 2.x firmware as well as u need a serve which will push mail to u. Without a good enough server push ain't possible.

    gotcha!

    i got 2 email accounts - my general yahoo account and my work 1and1 account. both push me new mails automatically immediately. perhaps i'm lucky

    Is your work mail in the following format??
    Your_id@company_name.com?
    If yes then your company uses microsoft exchange which is good.
    And btw what Is 1and1??
