So....I bought music from the iTunes wifi store on my iPod with free download codes. I noticed, however, that in itunes, my number of download codes did not decrease until I synced my iPod.

So, in theory, iTunes does not charge your account until your ipod is synced.

Therefore, shouldnt you be able to download music on your ipod, SFTP it onto your computer and run a protected music converter to change it to a DRM-free .mp3?

And as long as you dont sync your ipod, you could get as much free music as you wanted.

Does this seem plausible? Just simple observations and a little inferring.

    Tell me what you think.

very interesting... I've got about 40 free download credits in my account at the mo. so that would be good!

can this be confirmed by anyone?

actually i got to think about it and i don't think it would work. im sure since you have to been signed in on the touch to download that it keeps track of it that way. if you took them off before you synced i think it just may not update you computers itunes...not sure though
