The SDK (Software Developer Kit) is a Mac-only set of tools that allow developers to create their own applications for the iPhone or the iPod Touch. To create applications you need to have some knowledge on C language or something like that in order to write the coding for an app. In June when Apple publicly releases the 2.0 firmware, they will have a new application called AppStore, similar to the iTunes application but for downloading applications that people make with the SDK.
