I am an avid user of this forum and countless others. I love this site and everything, but something has irked me since I have joined.

I dislike the fact that the forum is set in a standard width view, if you guys understand what I am saying? Other forum boards give the option to change it from the fixed narrow width it is now, to a larger stretch of a view that is much more appealing for users with larger monitors, like myself. The black bars on the side are rather daunting.

Would it be possible to implement the choice in the User CP between fixed (standard) view and the screen (stretched width) view? It would make the site much nicer for a large majority of users, IMO.

    Thanks, Nburnes.

I agree. We dont need a new design. Just an option to have an extended width.

The black lines remind me of those on the fatty ipad bezel. Its pissing me off. I don't really mind since I don't stare at it but its annoying

I prefer it within the black lines, a lot of sites that I have seen look really messy when they take up the full screen.

Only if you have an old 4:3 display. those with widescreen 16:9 or 16:10 should have the option to extend the width. There is a LOT of wasted space.

Exactly what I am getting at. A good couple inches of wasted space on the sides of my screen.

Yea, no. I just want it to fit, not have larger text.
