is it just me that thinks this

how come we are allowed to talk about and post links to jailbreaks

which is copyright and theft, as we are getting the firmwares for free and pirating apples software

but we cant tell others where to download 3.0 betas

yet we can tel them where to download other firmwares

and we cant discuss how to activate ur betas

but we can tell others how to pirate and patch apples software

    what do you guys think????

    1. Jailbreaking isn't illegal.
    2. You can jailbreak with legally purchased firmwares. I've done it myself. We don't allow posting of firmwares, as you must purchase them.
    3. We also don't allow posting of Apple's modified firmwares. That would be illegal. Modifying them for your own personal use is not illegal. That's why there are tools such as PwnageTool to do it for you, rather than distributing illegal firmwares.
    4. Distributing 3.0 would be illegal and a violation of Apple's NDA. We're not pirating. You're wrong on so many levels.

I think it was that I said "You're wrong on so many levels," at the end on point number 4. I also had a sneaking suspicion that this was the guy that studangerous warned for discussing how to downgrade 3.0. Multiple accounts + flaming = Permanent Ban.

    Continue discussing...

WRONG. You are not getting the firmwares for free, and no Apple copyrighted code is distributed

This is because providing links to something you don't have the right to own and didn't pay for (stealing) is illegal. Next.

Regular, 1st Generation <1.1.4 ,or 2nd Generation (any), iPhone (any), or iPhone 3G (any firmware) is normally free, and therefore there is no harm in distributing it

You don't have legal access to the beta.

Patching != Pirating. We do not tell anybody how to "pirate" apple software.

I think you're wrong, and the moderators/administrator is right.

    Well this thread was...interesting.
I don't think it needs to be continued any further.
