    3G iPod touch
    Situation:
I was trying to fix the fact that I was unable to go into safe mode on my iPod Touch. After disabling some mobile substrate addons so I had to respring. The iPod looked like it got stuck in the respring so I turned it off. Now I am unable to turn it on. I can enter DFU mode, so I am going to restore to 4.0.

    Question:
I like my device jailbroken and would like to jailbreak 4.0. I remember reading that a MC jailbreak for 4.0 was found, and it is going to be released after iPhone 4 is released. Is this true?

It'll most likely come out either tomorrow or the next day.

Well, they were supposed to be shipped tomorrow anyway, so I give them a day or two to test on iPhone 4.

Chances are they won't release for a little while guys. It's for the best of the community if they were to wait till after July when more iPhone 4's have been shipped to the masses, with all the delays on pre-orders and people that can't even pre-order it's best that they wait to release the new bootrom jailbreak so they don't ruin it for people that get it later on.

IF a jailbreak is released within the next 2 weeks, I'd expect it to be the iBoot jailbreak for the 4.0 firmware, and for the BootRom jailbreak to not come out until iPT 4th gen or iPad 2. I don't see a jailbreak happening in the immediate future though.

I didn't know there even was an iBoot exploit.

I'm sure you know your stuff, this is for other people reading this:

iBoot: Can be fixed by a software update, this is in part of the firmware and can be patched by apple. Use for one firmware (like Blackra1n)

BootROM: A piece of hardware in the iDevices, that if pwned, allows for the device to be jailbroken regardless of the software on it.

We know we have an iBoot because a while back Geohot posted a video of it. Recently though, he discovered ANOTHER exploit, this one a BootROM, which he talked about in the conference in france (google, you can find the youtube video of his presentation on it, it's going to be called pwned4life, I'm sure you can find it).

So yes, we have 2 exploits ready, just waiting for the right times.

Wait, that one he posted awhile ago was iBoot? Did not know that. I thought that was bootrom.
