At the bottom of the iPod's headphone port, is a small piece of Litmus Paper. This Litmus Paper is used for science experiments. When this paper is soaked in a liquid, it changes color. If anyone here got their iPod wet, the Litmus Paper should have turned a dark blue of purple color. Once this happens, Apple will not replace you're iPod. But I have found a solution. Get a thin Q-Tip and lightly wet the end of it with rubbing alcohol, or cabbage juice(it really works) and put it in the headphone jack, put it in as deep as possible, or until you cant push any further, spin the Q-Tip. Then take it out, this will change the litmus paper back to normal(or white), Apple will never know, I tried this.

I put a dry one in when it got sand stuck in it. Heres a tip. If you are washing your hands, peeing, etc you should have your iPod in your pocket.

You shouldn't have your iPod in the washroom at all.
Leave it sitting outside the door, way more safer...

you should use a small Q-Tip, so that the small fibers don't get caught on the pins

Reading the threadstarters username and then the irony of the thread content makes me giggle. Isn't getting a replacement ipod by the above means a sin, AKA STEALING? LOL
