If you think u bricked ur touch this is what cmw has to say to it:

09:28 cmw it's impossible to brick a touch (without dropping or shocking it)
cmw dfu sits in the bootrom
cmw you can't modify the bootrom
cmw hense you can always drop into dfu and reflash your firmware/bootloader
cmw what you guys are confused on is
cmw there is 2 bootloaders on the iPhone
cmw one on the sl5 chip (the main cpu)
09:29 cmw thats the one pwnage flashes... iboot
cmw then there is another one in the infinity gold chip
cmw version 3.9/4.6 are refering to the infinity gold chip
cmw which is the gsm chip where the baseband resides
09:30 cmw you CAN brick the infinity gold chip (Well the nor...)
    -> rd261 has joined iphonelinux
cmw if you foobar your bootloader with no blanks
cmw but that will just kill your wifi/gsm on the iPhone
cmw it will still boot and work as a mp3 player

so there is still hope for those guys who think they bricked their touch.

iPod Touches don't have that. Those are iPhone exclusives.

then why are so many people "bricking", and i say that term very loosely, their ipod touches? is it human error or the program

You are mistaken, they SAY They have bricked. Its still not confirmed yet.

Some have managed to turn it off, which means something.

as long as it stays on long enough to flash the bootloader.

I have -bricked- my iPoT, and i can turn it off. When it's unplugged, that is.
When it is plugged in, it will simply not turn off.
