OK so the nano came with a radio but the touch did not. I know most ipod owners could care less about a radio, but to me that actually seems like a better feature than a camera. (I already have a 5 MP camera on my cell plus a pretty good digicam.)

There is some talk that the Touch is capable of receiving FM..and a possible futue firmware update bringing radio to the Touch. Does this mean that if I buy a Touch 3G now, it oculd just be updated and an FM icon would appear on the screen? Anyone know about this or is this just a rumor? Thanx....

It's a rumor, and not true.

The 2G came with a Bluetooth chip which was activated in 3.0. But they found the chip when it came out and was dissected. Did they find anything in the new model ? (I still can't bring myselft to call it "3G")

What?!? it is his opinion he is entitled to it. There is a 802.11n chip there which means radio could come on firmware update. I am guessing 3.2.2 .

He was calling it a 2.1Gen, which the mods frown upon, because it creates arguments about its name. There was a HUGE argument thread about this. Call it 3rd Gen, because it is.

    BACK ON TOPIC.

It can transmit and receive FM signals.
But it cannot yet because apple hasn't unlocked it.
Hopefully they do in a future upgrade just like they did with blue tooth

    Thank you.

It probably will end up having one, and we will need to pay $10 to activate it for the 4.0 upgrade.

I've learned a very valuable lesson and that is: no matter how convincing thr evidence is *AHEMFAKECASESAHEM* rumors are still rumors in the end.
