Is it ok to put my iPad on a flat surface while watching a movie and using the speaker? Thanks I just don't want to damage my speaker and blow it out.

It should be fine. I've done this with both of my iPads and nothing has happened yet.

I don't think the speakers are loud enough or vibrate enough to break.

If this were an issue, Apple would't have put the speaker where it is. :) No fear. It won't hurt a speaker even if you cover it with your hand. It just outputs sound...Apple thinks of everything :)

It's true. Some dork of a designer decided to design the speakers so that they would be on the bottom of my mom's HP dv7 and they sound like trash! And, oh wait, they are beats Audio...and it is HP...no wonder they are terrible quality...

And Apple moved the battery check indicator lights on the side. How thoughtful. And the MacBook Air 11" has a full keyboard...find a full keyboard that's backlit on a PC! You simply won't.

Apple makes computers so that they are dummy proof. It's a good thing, and it's why more and more people are going Apple. I don't want to figure out the solution when my PC says ERROR 726.654///y/system file 2239...when a Mac basically tells you the problem (or more accurately...almost never has issues...assuming your not using it wrong), and a PC...I use a PC regularly and I don't use it wrong and they STILL have issues. And Apple support at an Apple store crushes any other support I've ever known.

I just want something that just...something that JUST works! Solution: Mac.

if i may, doesnt the lack of fans inside of a macbook only make it incredibly hot? i mean theres no fresh circulation and its clear that even after using it and watching videos for a bit the macbook gets incredibly hot, so whos the genius besides that one? they mustve been thinking well its either your balls or noise, ill pick balls. on top of that not to flame but mac book air also leaves imprints of the keyboard on the screen after a certain period of time, and while there customer support is great, i find the only solution they have ever done for me is just replace the product which is a hassle especially for computers. Im not saying PC is better but i am saying the way ur making it sound is that apple only has the best which is not true, simply because every company has its flaws but since apple is the new fad everyone looks past them and blasts other companies instead

and to answer the OP question, ive used my new ipad while blocking the speaker for an hour it works just fine

I completely agree. True MBooks leave keyboard imprints on the screen. Solution: a thin screen protector. The MBA and MBP do have fans inside of them. The MBA doesn't get very hot bc it uses Solid state. The only reason it would get hot, is pushing the processor past what it can do, or battery issues. The MBP can become quite hot, yes, but it is still a power house.

Every company has flaws. A fact of life, right? Right. It just seems the Macs were designed (of course...duh, they were) with VERY, VERY, VERY much care to detail and wonderful user experience.

Replacing a Mac isn't that hard, that's why Apple thought ahead and made time machine. Very amazing program that I wish my PC had, bc my PC crashes literally every week...I lost a 10 page paper...oh wait...it's a Dell XPS...no wonder it's terrible quality......

I'm not saying Mac is better, because PC/windows has good things too. I'm saying Apple plans ahead better. That's why your have significantly less problems, where as it seems PC manufacturers just make a laptop and throw speakers, keyboard, battery, etc at it and hope it looks good and works. My mom's HP dv7 looks like HP put all the parts and machine into a blender to see what the result would be. It's terrible!!! It crashes once a month, we have to do system restores, sigh...it's just a pain in the you know where.

Anyways. :) Peace ;) please recognize I am not saying Mac or PC is better. For me, Mac is better, when for another person, PC is better.

I don't understand how this would blow out the speakers?

    This makes no sense.
