Yeah I just tried reinstalling iTunes, no dice. I don't have access to another PC here either. Maybe I just have a quack iPod, hah.

Thanks a million. My touch was inoperable after trying to apply the new patch manually. Could not getr it to restore no matter what I did.

    Thanks a lot for this.

    So it worked ? :)

You're one of the few people that this worked for.

The reason is that there are many causes for error 1604, 1601, 1602, etc, so only certain solutions work for certain people.

Apple really needs to narrow down causes on their part :p

Not really sure what was wrong with it. After applying all the correct commands for the patch my touch never rebooted, it stayed in a constant DFU like state but would not connect to the computer.

I would be able to follow the steps to put it into DFU and itunes would recognize an ipod in restore mode but I could not get it to restore. My error code was just 1600.

After running you package I was able to connect to itunes and used the auto restore right in itunes.

It works but you just need to do something else:
After You type the codes sometimes your ipod wont boot up but itll stay white. Change to a different usb slot and then try your custom firmware and it should work. To tell if its going to work your bootlogo should show uup when it says "Preparing to Restore" or something like that.

Edit: I forgot but thanks for new upload link too =D

That is what happened to me, it did not reboot. Just open itunes and click restore.
