Hi , today i discovered how to fix error 6 when you are trying to upload a NOR-ONLY UNTETHERD ipsw with Custom Boot Logos. Most people use custom boot logos over 300 kb and this causes error 6. I started thinking a new way on "How to fix error 6" and it worked. Lets start ...

1.Make sure you have a Nor-Only (Untetherd) ipsw and QuickFreedom.

2.Make a PNG image with trasnparency (i use Irfanview) and make sure its over 300 kb.

3.Open your Nor-Only (Untetherd) ipsw (with WinRar) and search for manifest (extract it) and recoverymode.s5l8720x.img3 (delete it).

4.Open your manifest (with Wordpad) and search a line "recoverymode.s5l8720x.img3" and delete it.

5.Now upload the MODIFIED "manifest" into your Nor-Only ipsw and you are done.

6.Now turn off your iPod , wait 4 seconds , hold HOME (only) and plug in the cable until the "Recovery Mode" shows up.

7.Go to iTunes , hold "Shift" , and press restore. Navigate to the folder that has the Nor-Only ipsw , select it , and let iTunes do the job.

NOTICE : Your RECOVERY MODE image will be replaced with a white screen if you don't mind...

If this doesen't work for you PM me

    Credits go to :

Me (for making this fix and this tutorial)
Gojohnnyboi (for giving us the codes to make the applelogo.s5l8720x.img3)
    Dancool999 (for making the QuickFreedom)
    and many others....

UPDATE 1 : FOR THOSE WHO HAVE THEIR applelogo.s5l8720x.img3 OVER 400 KB DELETE batterylow0.s5l8720x.img3 AND batterylow1.s5l8720x.img3 , ALSO DELETE THE LINES "batterylow0.s5l8720x.img3" and "batterylow1.s5l8720x.img3" FROM THE MANIFEST AND TRY AGAIN

UPDATE 2 : DON'T TRY THE UPDATE 1 YET...IT MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS TO YOUR IPOD

    Transparency...

Download Irfanview open your PNG image and save it
When you will try to save it a dialog will come up "PNG/PNM/ICO save options"
Check the "Use Transparent Colour" and save your image
A new dialog will come up "Choose transparent color"
Then select a black place in your image and it transparent all the black places
    DONE
