    Hi Gurus,

Just wondering if this is a known problem, with a known solution.

I've recently upgraded my Gen 1 iPod Touch to Firmware 2.2.1

Since I've done this, I've noticed that I get dropouts while listening to songs - just a second of silence, but can happen a few times in songs. I've noticed not every song hits it - it seems to be those at a tighter bit rate (128kbps) have an issue, while those at higher bit rates (192kpbs) seem fine.

In addition, coverflow isn't rotating properly while music is playing, and overall response seems slow. This suggests to me that the iPod CPU is struggling to keep up with whats being demanded of it.

I know no applications installed, and wi-fi is disabled.

Is there a known issue with CPU overload with the new firmware on the old iPods, or have I got a problem?

    No applications installed? Wow!
If you are jailbroken, that's your problem right there. If you are not jailbroken, you should try a reboot just to clear up the memory.

    No applications!?
