Nitro Key (link) has released the first official (to my knowledge) boot/jailbreak dongle for your ipod touch. They send you instructions on how to prep your ipod for use with their dongle (using software THEY DEVELOPED, not ripped from a dev team). The software is cross-platform, and from the source of it, it seems to be running a similar process as redsn0w, but I won't say any more about that.

I got my dongle today and I'm EXTREMELY satisfied with the results. I restored my iPod just to test out it's jailbreaking function, and it works perfectly. Now, the Nitro Key is a bit pricey ($40, yikes) compared to the assumed $15 for a home-made dongle that the dev team is whipping up. However, if you have the money to spare, I highly recommend this dongle, it's worth it's price.
