    Okay so my local best buy has this first generation iPod touch on display in the stereo section. It is running 1.1.4, and hasn't been touched for years.

    My question is, do you think they would be willing to sell it? I would actually buy it, but I am not sure if they would, or how to approach them about it. Any ideas?

    Just go up to an employee and mention you saw it, and ask if they want to sell it. They 'probably' will. Worth a try.

    Do you think it will be the standard price they were at the time? I mean, I don't even think they have a box for it.

    I bet they'd sell it.

    But if you don't mind me asking, why do you want it?

    Well I love the first generation iPod touch. I wish I had one. And it can do things like run android etc. But back on topic.

    How much do you think it would go for?

    *Please stay on topic though, the above thing was just elaborating on it a little more*

    @Torin, it is in the stereo section so that you can test the speakers out I think.

    It's not in stock, it's being displayed.
    Maybe they're just too lazy to replace it.

    @Jug: I'd ask them. They may charge $200 or $300 because the other iPods are that price.

    No way, if the person is reasonable at all. I'd say >100 if it's only an 8GB.

    Yes I am pretty sure it is just the 8GB model. I haven't looked as I have only been to it twice. I am going out later today, but idk if I will ask how much they want for it. And I mean, it is in good condition too. But they might think I am weird to ask for it.

    Weird? How does that make you weird??
    It doesn't, and they're the weird ones if they think you're weird.

    )

    Just ask. I'm sure they'll sell it to you.

    Tell them they can put a better looking and newer iPod on display for people to see.
