Whilst replacing the digitizer on my first gen ipod touch, I broke the connection between the wifi antenna and the comms board. (see rectangular board on right of step 9: http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/iPod-Touch-1st-Generation-Teardown/596/2) The ribbon cable was severed when I was repairing it. There must be some sort of backup, because I am getting -80 dBm (wifi number for jailbreak users) when I am sitting five feet from the router. My third gen reads -41 dBm (vastly better). So my question is: is there any way to replace the rectangular board? I have no idea, as the entirety of the hardware appears to use ribbon cables. Thanks in advance.
