I own an ipod touch with 1.1.4 firmware...

I want to jailbreak my ipod so is it better to update it to 2.0/2.1 and then jailbreak it or should i jalibreak my present firmware ?

Also is jailbreaking 1.1.4 easier or difficult than jailbreaking 2.1 ?

Also if I jailbreak 1.1.4 can i use appstore apps on it ( coz according to apple you need firmware 2.0 or above for appstore ) i.e can i use appstore on jailbroken 1.1.4 firmware ?

Your Help will be really appreciated .

    Tnx

Just update to 2.2 now, and jailbreak using QuickPwn. Don't waste another thought thinking about pre-2.X firmwares

    1.1.4 cannot run AppStore apps.

Update to 2.2 and pwn like meikura suggested.

Get AppStore apps and jailbreak apps running together side by side.

ps. Meikura grats on 2k posts.

    48 left for me xD

    Should i upgrade to 2.1 or 2.2 ?

But i have heard 2.2 is more prone to crashes or random reboots ........

And is there any chance of Bricking the IPT while jailbreaking ?

    Tnx

I've never had a problem on 2.2, it's been perfect so far.
Not that I'm aware of. I don't think it's possible to brick the iPod touch.

In my opinion, update to 2.2. The App Store is definitely worth it, and because it can be jailbroken, you won't miss all your favourite themes
