    Is Firmware 2.2 jailbroken?

Yes, Firmware 2.2 has been jailbroken by the iPhone Dev Team. QuickPwn 2.2 can be used for both Mac and Windows. The download links to these tools are below:

Which devices can be jailbroken on Firmware 2.2?

1st-gen iPod touch, iPhone and iPhone 3G.

Will I be able to jailbreak my 2nd-gen iPod touch now?

No. This firmware update (2.2) has no affect on jailbreaking your 2nd-gen iPod touch, and the iPhone Dev Team has stated that this is not their top priority at this time.

If I am jailbroken and want to update to Firmware 2.2, will I lose my jailbreak?

Yes, you will loose your current jailbreak and all jailbroken material such as applications will be removed.

If I am not jailbroken and want to update to Firmware 2.2, will I loose my media?

No. All media (such as music, videos, applications from App Store and so forth) will not be erased after the update.

If I jailbreak Firmware 2.2, will I lose my media?

No. If you jailbreak Firmware 2.2, you won't loose any media (music, videos, etc) as well as any applications you installed from the App Store.

Is Cydia or Installer included when you jailbreak Firmware 2.2?

When jailbreaking with either tools, you have the option to include Cydia and/or Installer.

Can I create a custom boot logo with the Firmware 2.2 jailbreak?

    Yes.

If i update to firware 2.2 then will I be able to backup my ipod touch 2g to any earlier version, ex: 2.1?
Since I bought my ipod it already had version 2.1.1 installed be default, the version that cannot be "backuped".

    No problem.

    No, you can't downgrade regardless.
