Firmware 2.2.1

    Hey everybody,

    I trying to get some advice before I download this latest update from itunes. I have a jailbroken 2.2 itouch and wanted to find out if I will have to re-jailbreak if I update to this 2.2.1?

    I know it might sound stupid, but I aint got a scooby doo

    You need to hold off. There are several threads on this already. If you update now you may not be able to jailbreak it again.

    i bet you will be able to jailbreak sooner or later it might just take longer but somebody will figure it out the people that do it are smart enough to

    this isn't right. nothing in that upgrade would stop you from jailbreaking your touch again. you would have to jailbreak again though.

    Actually, it is right. New firmware, new jailbreak method required.

    yes the is no jailbreak available but that doesn't mean that there will never be but granted it doesn't mean that there will be either but i know that people will be trying as hard as they can to get it jailbroke as soon as they could but in my opinion that it will sooner or later

    the warning is for iPhone users. they were waiting to see if Apple updated the baseband (which it turns out they didn't).

    new jailbreak method isn't required. decryption keys are different, but it will still be a quickpwn jailbreak. please stop spreading misinformation.

    I know that it will be a QuickPwn jailbreak. I'm saying that if he updates now, he will not be able to jailbreak until the Dev Team releases a QuickPwn update for the new firmware. Perhaps you didn't understand what I was saying. When I said "method" I meant new QuickPwn version.
