    I have firmware 2.0 and my power button is damaged so I can't turn my ipod off. Since It is damaged I can't get into DFU mode so I can jailbreak it. I was wondering if someone could help me get into DFU mode without having to do it manually. Thanks

    Put your iPhone in DFU mode :

    1.) First download the application that puts your iPhone in DFU mode
    http://www.filedropper.com/dfu - this is the application

    2.) Extract the downloaded archive to the C: Drive, it should look like this: “C:/DFU/”

    3.) Connect your iPhone and ignore iTunes

    4.) Goto Start -> run

    5.) Next type in “c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu”

    6.) Wait for iPhone to show a “white” screen

    Copy and pasted from somewhere else (can't tell you or else i get banned

    All It did is put it in restore mode. I need it in DFU mode so I can downgrade to 1.1.4. So does anyone else have any ideas?

    1) Turn your ipod completely off
    2) Hold the sleep and home buttons for 10 seconds
    3) Let go of the sleep button and hold home for another 10 seconds then let go of home, you should be in DFU mode now

    Edit: sorry, i didn't see your power button is broken. I don't know if there are any programs out now that will do it.

    Is there a different file than "iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu" for the iPod Touch? When I do this, iTunes then recognises it as an iPhone not an iPod Touch.

    Type in n45ap in place of m68ap.

    Hi when I run c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.n45ap.RELEASE.dfu as you said, the screen appears green with the restore and itunes signs still showing. Is this supposed to happen?

    you need winrar and extract the ipsw, then go to firmware/dfu and in there will be iBSS.n45ap.ERELEASE.dfu extract that file from the 2.0.1 firmware
