Is there a 1.1.2 firmware update on itunes for the U.S?
I have heard things from different people
Is it just selective for which peoples itunes can find the update?
    Thanks...

It's not official on US iTunes yet ...

    Use Google, you'll find it!

You can download the patch file from other sources than iTunes and manually apply it. My advice is to be patient and wait for it. Is there something specific you need from the 1.1.2 patch?

Well if you search for something like ... ipod touch 1.1.2 ... you should find references to pages that have links pointing to the download. I don't think we can post the links here ... the mods zap them.

I'm in Houston - last night Apple software update showed the 7.5 iTunes version ready for download and the 1.1.2 firmware is the default. Previously I was using 7.2 iTunes.

1.1.2 should show up shortly for you.

1.1.2 isn't available under the Check for Updates tab, but if you try to do a restore, iTunes will try to download and install 1.1.2, unless you tell it not to.

You don't have to download the Zip file first, like ilounge says? I hit Restore and it said the usual "do you want to restore iPod to its original factory settings. . . wipe out media, etc. etc."

BUT, a RESTORE will wipe your tunes ... you'll have to re-SYNC all your stuff.

If you can position youself for UPDATE (which is what I did by downloading the .ipsw file) you can just upgrade the OS and not have to re-SYNC all your user data (tunes, etc.).

PS: Then (for windows) you hold the SHIFT KEY while clicking UPDATE in iTunes and it will let you SEARCH for the file you want to use for the UPDATE.
