so i changed the safari icon to firefox and that worked great (thx for all the informative posts), but i can't change the app name from safari to firefox. I've tried literally every suggestion that i've found on the internet like the app rename from cydia, or SSHing into the ipod and renaming the app file, but nothing works. i know that my rename app works too, it's not like i need to reinstall it or anything because i tried it on other apps and it worked fine, so i just want to know: how the hell do u do this? please help

    That was... a major bump...

Anyway, go to System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/LocalizedApplicationNames.strings, convert it to a .plist, find "com.apple.MobileSafari", and change the value to Firefox or whatever.
