I cant count the times i have used my girlfriends cell phone to trace my own in my house. Sounds familiar, not?

Wouldnt it be great if there were an app to command ur ipod touch to make some noize so u can quickly find it? The easiest (free) way i can think of would be bye sending the command with a computer on to the ipod running the app ( when both are connected to the same wifi network).

Does anyone know if such an app allready exists? Or is this idea not possible? What are your thoughts?

Besides. Your ipod will almost certainly be in sleep mode anyways so i doubt an app could work.

I think certain jailbreak apps can work while the ipod is asleep.
    Not sure about that though

Ive read about apps that can delay or prevent the ipod from going asleep. Certainly something to consider when making the app, though.

Let me quote myself: " sounds familiar, not?"

To get back to the technicalities: how difficult can it be to send commands to an ipod from a computer on the same network?
