In response to Saurik's attempt to legalize the jailbreaking of Apple devices, Apple has stated that jailbreaking will allow the hackers to send commands to cell towers, such as a DoS attack (denial of service) which can render the towers useless.

Apple also stated that jailbreaking would also allow users to send real anonymous phone calls which, as Apple stated, would be "desirable for drug dealers".

However, the good guy (in my eyes), Fred von Lohmann, an EFF attorney, said Apples claims were "preposterous" in a public hearing that took place in May, and reminded them that over a million "unauthorized" devices are jailbroken.
