    Hi,

I have the iPod Touch 3G 8GB and it has not been jail broken before. I done some researches about this jailbreak and apparently there is one but every time you do a reboot the device needs to be re-jail broken. Here is a few questions if someone can kindly answer them:

    1. Will the current jailbreak affect my battery life of my iPod Touch? (The one were you cannot restart the device or it has to be re-jail broken)

    2. I heard theirs a WiFi bug on the iPod Touch is that true?

    3. What other negative stuff are there to the jail break (The one where you cannot reboot or shutdown)

Thanks if anyone can answer those.

First off, the current jailbreak for the 3G iPod touch is called a tethered jailbreak. Tethered just means that you will have to plug it into Blackra1n to reboot. It isn't really re-jailbreaking it, it is just booting it. It is the same as every other jailbreak, except that you have to use Blackra1n to reboot.

    Now, for your questions:
    1. Yes, the jailbreak can affect your battery life. If you keep your processes limited (by using SBSettings), though, you can mostly avoid this.

    2. No, I haven't encountered nor heard of a WiFi bug on any iDevice at the moment.

    3. Jailbreaking is generally a good thing, just don't mess with anything that you don't know how to use.

My friends iPhone 3G got wireless bug after tethered jailbreak. I thought it might have effect. How long does the battery last jail broken on standby?

On standby, the battery will last as long as it would not jailbroken.

And that is weird, I've never heard of jailbreaking causing a wireless bug.

Either way, I'm assuming that a restore fixed it.

I never got a wireless bug on my iPhone 3GS so your friend must have done something to trigger that bug. It depends on how much jailbreak items you have and how much you have turned on (AKA Processes).

Weird, I heard about the wireless bug before on Geohots twitter or from someone on this forum.

When is the full jail break coming out then? A approxed date will be fine.

May I ask, How can the iPod Touch 3G 8GB be recovered after a jailbreak? E.g. If I dont like the jailbreaking I want a restore how?

Do I loose all my apps and music?
