I was restoring my iPod touch 2g to iOS4.0, and the progress bar stopped right before it completed, I'd say about 97%. I looked it up and someone said try reinstalling iTunes. That didn't fix it. I then tried it on my laptop just in case it was the computer. I got error 13. I then tried to put it into DFU mode, and this was a problem. It seems to be stuck in Recovery mode. As soon as I plug my iPod into the computer, it turns on and instantly goes into recovery mode, even if I turn it off while plugged in it just turns back on. There is no opportunity to do the DFU button combo.

You have WiFi Sync installed on your computer? it's known to freeze up restores at the end of a restore.

Yeah, it is actually. I'll give that a shot.

UPDATE: Thank you sir. That fixed my problem. You are my hero.
