Ok, I got my ipod touch jailbroken with cydia, and it's working all good but I noticed something earlier today. When I tried turning my ipod off with slider it worked, but when I tried turning it back on it keeps saying it needs to be connected to itunes.. Is there anyway you can prevent this from having to go on the computer every time you turn it on after turning it off.? Also would it effect your ipod if you kept it in sleepmode for a long amount of time?

This is because you have a tethered jailbreak. You must re-run blackrain each time you boot up your device. Sleep mode does not require you to do this.

I'm saying, how often should you be shutting your ipod down?

It dosen't really matter if you shut it down alot. All it means is that you have to run Blackrain again.

So how long would you say, you should go without shutting it down completey? Does it effect the internal hardware at all over time?

It is better for the battery to keep in sleep mode.
