Too often, that minus sign is too small to press when closing apps in OS4. I'm not exactly sure why it's so small, but it is. I've found myself missing it time after time, and closing the multitask drawer instead of the intended app(s).

So, after a bit of work and some iFile file replacement, I found an easier way to quit out of apps in iOS4. Using Winterboard (or manual install if you want), instead of hitting the minus sign, all you have to do is tap the app itself to close it.

Winterboard: Add the folder for your device from the .zip archive to /var/stash/Themes.whatever/ a la SSH to get it to work.

Manual: Open the folder for your device from the .zip archive, then navigate to Bundles > com.apple.springboard. Replace either SwitcherQuitBox.png or SwitcherQuitBox@2x.png, depending on your device, in /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app a la SSH.

Email me at rykah.sama@gmail.com or PM me if you want a different design, but you're always welcome to make one yourself and post it here. Keep in mind that this Winterboard theme needs to go over whatever theme(s) you may have that overwrite SwitcherQuitBox.png.

One last thing: While making this, I didn't think about icon labels. Keep in mind that the Kill Prior image (from Switcher Plus) will show up behind the labels if they're on. It's merely cosmetic, the button itself will still function as normal. If I think of a new way of making this without label intrusion, I'll update.

    Download Easy MultiQuit here.
Works for all iDevices with Apple multitasking.

Whats the Point of the Multitasking if you cannot go back to apps through it?

Obviously the x is only going to appear if you hold the app. I don't think you want to switch if you're holding the app to close it.
