    There is a website called

    smacleo(dot)com
Click on "cell phones" on the left and click on the iPhone 3G 16Gb

and it offers "brand new factory unlocked iPhone 3g". It says it can use ANY Sim Card for ANY service provider.
I'm wondering if it's real? I mean I got a old cell phone and I'm with sprint, so I was wondering if I could just put my SIM card in this "Factory Unlocked" iPhone 3g.

Am I understaning that correctly? And Then I want to jailbreak it, which I kind of already know how to do because I'm typing this on a jailbroken iPod touch 1st gen.

yes they are real, tho they only are sold where locking phones to a single network is illegal.

Wait so if I do buy this phone, what sim card can I use on it? I thought sense it's factory unlocked I can use ANY sim card.

    I'm getting confused here.

Should I buy it or not?
I wanna use sprint on it and jailbreak it.

Hm....This website seems kinda odd. I bought my unlocked phone on craigslist. I would look into this before you buy

it has to be a GSM sim card, iPhones only support GSM. Sprint and Verizon use CDMA, which is not compatible with the iPhone's cellular antenna. Popular GSM carriers are : AT&T, T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone, O2-UK, and so on.

that'll work, but the baseband will have to be 2.28 =\

Make SURE the baseband is that firmware before perchasin' it if ya'z plan to use it on TMobile USA anytime soon.

Really, the only people that can make use of a factory unlocked phone are the Europeans because of how small the countries are and how widespread telecommunications are overseas. The US is actually 10 years BEHIND Europe right now =\
