I thought face time doesn't work on the same wifi network? On a whim my g/f and I facetimed each other both using an ipt4 at home using our crappy little netgear router. It worked just fine and smooth as butter. Ipt4g easier on wifi bandwidth an ip4 perhaps? Anyone else tried it?

Why wouldn't it work fine on the same WiFi network? All calls get routed through Apple's servers.

From what I had read about the iPhone 4, people seemed to be in agreement that two people couldn't facetime each other on the same wifi hotspot without tremendous lag,

This can't be right. Not unless the 8 FaceTime demo iPods setup in the apple store had 8 separate networks right next to eachother....

It does not matter if they are on the same network or not.

I couldn't see why it would matter. Thanks
