This is a discussion thread for the "Facebook Launching Cross-Platform App Center" story posted on the front page.
#inb4thescrubs This is not a replacment for the App Store. This is nice. I like the idea of an "AIO" (All In One) App Store. Its simple and easy to get around.
You're right. It's not a replacement for the iOS App Store. I think of it as Facebook's own App Store, which right now helps you discover the best social apps available on/via Facebook, be it on the site directly or iOS/Android apps that utilize the Facebook Login feature. But I assume it will also contain the Facebook paid apps that will now launch.
An even better way to think of it is this: Modzilla Firefox has add-ons i.e App Store for the Browser. Facebook now has add-ons i.e App Store for Facebook such as Words With Friends, Yahoo articles etc.
Anything to get people to stay on Facebook and feel like they all ready have too much Social Networking, than to go to Google+!
This is great!. I was stuck in App Store for some reasons. Facebook did really good to launch cross-platform appsand I think soon many others will introduce this.
