By far, when I got my hands on my iPod Touch Firmware 2.0 loaded onto my iPod I went straight for the App store. And the first app I downloaded was the Facebook application. Sadly when I went to discover the apps potential versus the web page version I saw not many advantages.
The thing I see is being added to the actual application compared to the web page was Chat. & able to comment on the pictures you can actually view... That's mostly it.

But they've surprisingly taken away some features which made me fustrated.

Wall Posting - Yes, this is probably the biggest thing I do on Facebooks. Wall to Walls, with the Facebook app it doesn't really appeal to me.

Picture Viewing - Facebook barely lets you view your friends pictures which is a big thing. You can see their profile picture album but not their regular photo albums. I luckily found an album or two going though my friends mini-feeds but that was it. No simple "Photos" button so I could view them.

I know the Facebook apps like professional looking and all, but couldn't they spend a bit more time to add on a feature to view friends albums or post on their walls?

I know theres SURELY going to be updates with the Facebook app but it seems that both Wall posting and photo album viewing should be incorporated with the debut release...

I agree with you. The Mobile web version is much better, with the exception of chat.

The app is fairly disappointing. How long do you guys think before major updates?

Yes, I've been using the Myspace one alot.
It gives you a lot of control compared to the Facebook app.
    I'm currently on it! ^^
