    Hi Guys

I quite like using the facebook app and would like to be able to save pictures from it. I can use the home+power button combination to take a screen shot and save the pictures like this, however, very often there is the text caption at the bottom of the photo that cannot be removed. Consequently saving the pictures using the screen shot method also saves the text caption.

Is there no method of saving the pictures directly as the picture?

The application does not let you save pictures onto your iPod/iPhone.

As newton said, use Safari. It may not be as fast, but you can save pictures.

if you are on 2.0, a little bar will pop-up on the bottom saying "Save Image," which you click. Then the image will be saved in your photos.

Building upon what he said, you need to hold your finger on the picture

Please Register or Log in to view images

Then it will ask you if you want to save the picture or e-mail it to somebody.

Also, what you can do is save the facebook (safari) as a web app if you havent done so. That's one less step: Safari > Facebook.com

I used the webapp over the native app until the native application got a much-needed update over the summer. There is nothing wrong with the webapp; it is highly functional.

Ive recently found that on the facebook app, you can hold your finger down on the picture and a little tab will come up and there, you can save it. This is on the App not through Safari.
